Teaching for a Complex World welcomes K–12 teachers and others exploring education’s role in sustainable, just, peaceful, culturally rich, resilient, and flourishing futures.
I draw on UNESCO’s 2023 Recommendation, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), and the SDGs to translate global frameworks into systems questions and tools teachers can adapt to their contexts.
Music learning and teaching are my specialty and point of entry into this wider work. We begin with permission and recognition, then build understanding, design capability, evidence-conscious practice, endurance, and community.
Expect conversations, videos, research notes, works in progress, frameworks, and chances to shape future work. With enough interest, future courses, workshops, tools, or resources may be free or paid.
I’m Kyle Bartlett, a former K–12 music teacher with a Ph.D. in Music Learning and Teaching from ASU. My dissertation examined ESD in music education across six Southwestern states.
