Introduction

I'm Sharitta Marshall, founder of Visionary Development Consulting, where we empower Black leaders and Employee Resource Groups to challenge outdated norms, break barriers, and drive real, measurable impact in corporate spaces. The problem I solve? Too many talented people of color are navigating systems built without them in mind and often, without the tools, sponsorship, or strategy to thrive authentically.

That’s why I wrote The Unwritten Rules Are Meant to Be Broken: Breaking Barriers, Thriving in Corporate Spaces, and Redefining Success as a Black Leader. It's a guide, a challenge, and a call to action to stop playing by rules that were never made for us and start building spaces where we lead on our own terms.
