1. Name the thing you actually want:
What I truly want is freedom.
I want to be successful and financially secure. I want to be able to be a more involved mom and, one day, have the freedom to stay home with my children instead of always having to choose between work and family.
I want to be debt-free and have enough financial freedom that I can save, invest and build a secure future for my family.
I want to be able to enjoy the life I’ve always dreamed of not constantly worrying about money, but having choices, time and freedom.
More than anything, I want to build something that gives me time with my family, financial freedom and the ability to create a better future for us.
Since a small girl.. There were always this lightning inside me that felt I was ment for more...more than just the usual traditional way of living... I always thought I would achieve more and be more... But there is so much holding me back.. And so much has happend in my life that that feeling is almost non existing. So I want to feel that feeling again but this time I want to live it not just feel it.
2. If I actually got it, what am I afraid of?
If I actually achieved everything I say I want, I think part of me is afraid that I would lose time and fail at it.
I’m scared that building this business will take even more of my time when I already feel like there isn’t enough time in the day. I am afraid that it won't last and I will fail again...
But if I’m completely honest with myself, I think there is another fear underneath that:
What if I give it everything I have and it still doesn’t work?
What if I fail? What if I’m not capable of making DMS work? What if I’m one of those people who tries and never gets anywhere?
3. Is that fear protecting me or keeping me small?
That fear isn’t protecting me anymore. It is keeping me small.
It is keeping me stuck in overthinking, procrastinating and waiting for the “right” time or for me to somehow feel ready.
The biggest thing holding me back right now isn’t DMS, my circumstances or whether this opportunity can work.
It’s my own thoughts and my own mind.
I talk myself out of taking action. I procrastinate. I get overwhelmed. I compare myself to other people and start believing that maybe only a few people can actually make this work.
And when I feel stuck, I start telling myself,
“Maybe I’m just not going to be one of the people who succeeds.”
But the truth is, I won’t know what I’m capable of until I stop letting fear make my decisions for me.
I don’t need to have everything figured out. I don’t need to be perfect. I just need to keep showing up, take one step at a time and give myself a real chance.
Because the life I want requires me to become the person who is willing to believe it’s possible and take action even when I’m afraid.
