What Actually Makes Studying Effective?
A, level studying can sometimes feel like there’s an endless amount of content to cover, and it’s easy to spend hours studying without feeling like you’ve actually made progress. I think one of the biggest questions for students is how to study effectively rather than simply studying for longer. Different people swear by different methods, flashcards, past papers, active recall, study groups, teaching someone else, or timed study sessions. But what works brilliantly for one student might not work as well for another. So I’m curious: What study method has genuinely helped you remember information and feel more confident about your A, level subjects? And what’s one study habit you wish you had started earlier?

This is a place for A-Level students who actually want to do well, not just survive the two years. Here's the TRUTH about A-Levels: it's not really about intelligence. It's about self-study. There's no one chasing you to do the work and no one checking if you actually understood that topic. YIKES 😔 Most students underperform because these two things are very difficult to do alone: 1. Motivating yourself to actually sit down and work when nobody's making you 2. Knowing what to do once you do sit down what to revise, how, and in what order 💪 This community aims to solve both issues. It's a place to keep you accountable and motivated, surrounded by other students doing the same thing as well as people who have been there and done that and we do the hard part of figuring out what to work on for you, so you're never sat there wondering where to start. ----- RULES: - No self-advertising or spam - Post with effort. Before you post, ask: would this actually help someone else? - Be respectful. ----- Here's what's already inside, completely free: - 📚 Subject Resources - Flashcards, Topic Snapshots, Multiple Choice Questions, Past Papers & Mark-schemes and more - 🎥 Effective Study Course - Video course of the best techniques for efficient study with helpful resources - 📝 Weekly Homework - A set question sheet every week to keep you studying through-out the term - 🤝 Support Network - Likeminded students and people who have already been in your shoes And from October 2026, we're also running live weekly group tutoring sessions. This part is paid, but everything above is free and already live, so there's no reason to wait to get started. Whilst we grow, we will be focusing on 🧪 CHEMISTRY 🧪 and slowly building out other subjects! To move up the leaderboard, level up by getting likes on your posts and comments. Don't worry we will help and encourage you with what to post! PSSST at the end of the year there might be a prize for the top of the leaderboard 🤫
