Donald Miller had a great video about breaking down your website "cognitive load."
As a small business owner, your goal isn’t to sound like the smartest person in the room,it’s to be the most understood.
When we use "high cognitive load" language, those long, complicated paragraphs about our history or our "process," it’s like handing our customers an 8-pound bowling ball.
Eventually, they’re going to drop it and walk away because it’s just too much work to carry.
Instead, lower the shelf.
Use simple statements that solve the customer’s problem immediately.
When you simplify your message, you stop handing out bowling balls and start handing out balloons.
People will actually listen because it’s easy to engage.
Thank you Donald. Miller!
