Check Engine Light (MIL) on?
Is your Check Engine light on? Is your car acting different? Is it struggling? Are you aware that there are different types of sensors which cause this light to illuminate? The OBDII system (think of this as the momma of the car) tracks and inspects the following systems and components: Misfire Detection: Checks for engine misfires, often using crankshaft speed sensors. Fuel System: Monitors fuel pressure, injection timing, and feedback control. Oxygen (O2) Sensors: Ensures accurate readings for fuel mixture control. Catalytic Converter: Evaluates its efficiency in reducing emissions. EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) System: Checks flow, response, and cooler operation. Evaporative Emission Control (EVAP) System: Tests for fuel vapor leaks. Boost Pressure (for turbocharged vehicles): Monitors for overboosting or underboosting. Transmission: Monitors for issues related to gear shifting and overall performance. If one of these systems fails to stay within the designated parameters assigned by the car maker then you will see the MIL or CHECK ENGINE LIGHT illuminate. It could blink or it could stay on but either way it is definitely something not to be overlooked or ignored

WELCOME EVERYONE
As a rule of thumb I always ask how much people want to know about the repair or cause of damage. I use diagrams, pictures, videos and diagnostic reports to aid with understanding the damage, fault and recommendations needed. Another question is How much understanding of car repair or car mechanics do you know? Is not about knowing or not knowing but it’s about being able to properly communicate the damage or current state of the vehicle. With that in mind - how much do you know about cars 1-5. 5 being able to distinguish between the need of a rubber gasket, composite, metal or RTV and the difference amongst them. 1 being how to drive the car and put gas ⛽️. No wrong answers :)
WELCOME EVERYONE
SAFETY TEST
If in the USA does your State requires a SAFETY test prior to allow the state registration? Why is this good or why is this bad? In Texas we have so many drivers not USED to drive in the snow, rain or anything WET so without the SAFETY test we now have a multiple amount of accidents caused by bald tires or faulty brake systems. let alone the cars can now obtain their registration if they have NO headlights, NO wipers , etc. Yes, that was not THOUGHT all the way thru in my STATE? How is your state handling this and why is this important for you?
