If you are reading this, the room is new. There is not much in it yet. That is on purpose — I would rather build it around the people who show up than fill it with material nobody asked for. So the first thing I want is not a lesson. It is your story. Here is what I mean Almost everyone who does this work can point to a moment. Something happened that did not fit, and afterward you were different — more awake, or more unsettled, or both. Mine was not dramatic. It was a small thing I could not explain away, and then a second one, and by the third I stopped trying. What I remember most clearly is not the experiences. It is the year afterward when I had nobody to ask. That is the part that stops people. Not the experience — the silence after it. Perception is trained, the way anything is trained: a little at a time, with structure, and with somebody further along who can tell you what you are looking at.
