🦾 Can You, or Can’t You? — Let’s Talk About PODER 👍
This week we’re going to talk about poder: permission, ability, and asking for things politely.
In Spain you’ll hear “no se puede” a lot — you can’t park here, you can’t go in with that, you can’t pay by card. And then, very often, somebody does it anyway 😅 Rules here are more of a suggestion than a law 👀
⚡ ¿Qué puedes hacer en tu ciudad que no puedes hacer en otros sitios? // What can you do in your city that you can’t do anywhere else?
⚡ ¿Puedes hablar otro idioma además del inglés y el español? // Can you speak another language besides English and Spanish?
⚡ ¿Qué no puedes hacer todavía en español, pero quieres poder hacer? 😏 // What can’t you do in Spanish yet, but want to be able to do?
⚡ ¿Puedes dormir en un avión? // Can you sleep on a plane?
  • Throughout the week we’ll cover the verb PODER on Monday, a real-life situation on Wednesday, and a grammar challenge on Friday — and we’ll share our opinions along the way.
  • Don’t forget to practise every day by reading and replying to some comments!
