Speaking opportunities
I’ve let a few Spanish-speaking opportunities slip by, and I usually regret it.
But on Sunday, I was standing in line to pay for parking when I heard two women speaking Spanish. They couldn’t figure out why the machine wasn’t working, so I asked, “¿Necesitan ayuda?”
We worked through the problem together in Spanish, tried something different, and it worked.
It was a small interaction, but it reminded me that the best way to improve is to jump in and use the language.
