Many writers believe that clarity of thought comes with the more they write, so they push themselves to write.
In reality, settling the nervous system comes first. Deep breaths steady the internal rhythm, and the external environment becomes coherent. Then ideas begin to organize themselves, and the words become easier to access because the mind is no longer scattered.
This is why we begin by establishing coherence inside our writing sessions.
From coherence, listening becomes possible.
And from listening, language begins to form.
If you'd like to experience that shift, you’re welcome to join our Wednesday co-writing session.
