Find a way..
Several years ago I was at the Chicago theater downtown Chicago. The reason I was there was, a few reasons actually.
  1. My daughter was 15 years old and the first 15 year old to be in the Varsity swimming AND diving teams.
  2. She had started swimming lessons at the age of 5 and took to the water naturally. (She gets that from her father who the only thing that stopped him from becoming a Navy SEAL was he didn't have perfect vision. ) She'd set her own PR' s and broke them over and over again. To say she was "dedicated " would be an understatement. She once got upset because I pulled her out of swimming practice when he had an upper respiratory infection and despite that, went to swimming practice, which is held in the winter months, anyway.
  3. The World Record holder for swimming from Cuba to the United States unassisted was there to promote her book, "Find a Way". I'd watched the world Record event and cheered her on as she stumbled from the ocean waters in to the beach yelling at the crowd, "Nobody touch her!" Doing so would have disqualified her and after several attempts, would have robbed her from her precious victory! Diana Nyad. To this day, still someone I admire. Not only for that, she's incredibly intelligent
I got the opportunity to talk with her about her failed attempts and her final successful one. Incredibly dangerous and she nearly died doing it. But, she wouldn't let anyone stop her.
In our conversation she'd asked me, "west's YOUR thing?" At the time, I told her I wasn't quite sure yet. All if knew was that I wanted to help people. She looked me eye to eye and said, "Find A Way. "
I share this with you in hopes to inspire you like she did me. Everything you can do today, once upon a time, you couldn't. You may have even thought it "impossible. " Take a moment to think about all the things you can do that at one time, you couldn't.
Yes, there will be things that may prevent you from doing certain things, if you allow them to do that. My nephew, Morgan was only 5'9 and made the basketball team in the Navy because of his skills but also he was super fast.
Whatever you want to accomplish, research people who've beat the odds or overcome adversity to achieve it. Focus on what they did. Learn their habits and mindset. Develop mental toughness and resilience.
Ladies, the only thing stopping you from doing or having what you want in life, is what you allow inside your head.
You're so powerful! So capable! Bigger and stronger than you can comprehend!
