The Work You Keep Avoiding Is The One That Works 💎
Hello family 💛
Happy Saturday.
Hope you have had a great week and are ready to ease into a beautiful and restful weekend.
Something has come to mind that is easily overlooked and often not considered that has helped me out a ton on my own spiritual and personal development journey.
I wanted to share it with you because I feel it will resonate and hopefully help you as you continue to grow.
I wanted to touch on the importance of getting to the root cause of things.
And this applies to every single area of life.
Most people spend their whole lives fixing the wrong thing.
They treat the symptom. Not the cause.
You want to lose weight so you try another diet.
You want a better relationship so you work on your communication.
You want more money so you chase another opportunity.
It may work for a while.
But then you are right back where you started.
Here is why.
Every problem you have on the surface is connected to something deeper underneath.
Think of a ball of yarn.
You can snip off the loose end and it looks neat and fixed.
But the rest of the ball is still there.
This shows up everywhere.
Not just in personal development.
In software engineering there is a concept called technical debt.
It is when developers need to ship something fast and they take shortcuts when writing the code.
What is delivered works. The product launches. Everyone is happy.
But when the product begins to be used those shortcuts start to stack up quietly in the background.
And eventually the whole system starts to slow down.
Break down. Become impossible to manage.
Until they have no choice but to stop everything and rebuild from the ground up.
Costing far more time and money than if they had taken the time to get it done properly from the start.
The same thing happens with landlords and homeowners.
An electrician gets called out for a tripping fuse. They patch it. Job done.
A plumber fixes a leaking pipe under the sink. Problem solved.
But the real issue is the old wiring running through the entire house.
The outdated plumbing system that was never built to handle modern demand.
So the problems keep coming back.
Different rooms. Different symptoms. Same root cause.
And eventually the homeowner has no choice.
New regulations. A bigger fault. A safety risk.
They have to go back and fix the whole thing anyway.
Spending double what they would have spent if they had just addressed it properly the first time.
Your life works exactly the same way.
Every quick fix you apply without addressing the real cause is another patch on old wiring.
Another layer of debt building up underneath the surface.
The weight problem might actually be a job problem.
The job problem might actually be a confidence problem.
The confidence problem might actually be a belief you have held about yourself since childhood.
See how deep it goes.
And just like the homeowner who keeps calling out tradespeople for the same recurring issues, you keep revisiting the same patterns.
The same relationships. The same cycles. Until you finally decide to go to the root.
Real change only happens when you are willing to unravel the whole thing.
Not just patch the part that is visible.
Think of it like a tree.
You can prune the leaves. Spray it.
Make it look good on the outside.
But if the roots are not strong and healthy the tree will never grow the way it should.
Your beliefs. Your habits. Your patterns. Your inner world. Those are the roots.
Fix those and everything else starts to shift.
The career. The health. The relationships. All of it.
And here is the part that really matters.
The sooner you go to the root cause the sooner everything changes.
The sooner you stop losing time going in circles.
The sooner you start actually living the life you have been working towards.
The quick fix is always more appealing.
It is easier to sell and easier to buy.
But if you have tried enough of them you already know they do not last.
The permanent solution takes more courage.
More patience. More willingness to look at yourself honestly.
But the work you put in compounds over time.
And one day you look up and realise everything has changed.
Not because life got easier. But because you went deeper. 🔥
So take this as your invitation to go deeper.
Take the time, be courageous and do the work.
This is what this community and this space is for.
So we can do it together and know that you are not alone.
We all have each other's back in this work.
Something to reflect on this weekend.
Does this resonate?
Drop a comment below and let me know where in your life you have been treating the symptom instead of the cause.
Lots of love 💛
