Animals being empathetic to each other

Part of life is animals needing to feed and survive eating other animals.

Has anyone ever connected with an animal that has been the prey and or the predator and how this works ? I’ve always wondered if there is grief and wanting to belong by the prey? Their young killed or their life cut short.

Same as a dog attack, it’s traumatic but the attacking dog is usually mentally and physically unwell. How do they cope forgive and ask or need forgiveness?

So many thoughts and questions. I’m sorry just thinking as as type.
