Sunday Service | April 19th
Sunday service is inspired by my non-traditional spiritual upbringing. Both of my parents were raised in religious homes, yet when it came to raising us, they chose a different path—one without pressure, but full of curiosity. We called it home church. Some Sunday mornings were spent around the kitchen table, casually exploring the landscape of belief systems. As kids, we didn’t always appreciate it, but the impact stayed with me. We read Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits, talked through religious teachings and philosophies. Sometimes, my dad simply shared a short reading that meant something to him and he talked with us as long as he could keep our youthful attention. My intention for this Sunday service is to recreate that same gentle invitation: a space where we connect with our mind and body, and then offer a little nourishment for the soul. For our first gathering, we’ll draw from David Whyte’s The Book of Consolations, focusing on the topic of anger. His perspective offers a more honest, compassionate understanding of this often-loaded emotion—one we all know intimately, yet rarely know how to be with. I hope to share space with you Sunday, April 19th and that we can pour from our souls into this container of exploration.
