Adult train
One of my favourite teachings that I often share when I’m presenting is something I call The Adult Train 🚂
This is how I see adulthood…
We all jump on the train.
Every morning we get on.
🫠 We stop at Work Station.
😬We stop at Grocery Junction.
🥱 We stop at School Pick-Up Central.
🫣 We stop at Laundry Lane.
🥴 We stop at Bill Payment Platform. (The worst)
🫩 We stop at “I’ll do it tomorrow” Terminal.
And before we know it…
Years have gone by.
The problem isn’t adulthood.
The problem is that somewhere along the journey we stop getting off at:
🧺 Picnic Planet
🌳 Treehouse Town
🎨 Paint & Create City
🏝️ Adventure Bay
💭 Nap Valley
🍦 Ice Cream Island
🪩 Dance Like Nobody’s Watching Station
We stop doing the things that made us feel alive. 💫
As a coach, I spend a lot of time observing people.
And honestly?
Adults are boring 🫩🤣
Everyone talks about getting older like it’s a slow march towards misery. 🫡
That scares me.☠️☠️☠️
I don’t want to spend the next 40 years becoming more serious, more rigid, more stressed, and less playful.
I want to age gracefully.🌝
I want to stay curious.🧐
I want to keep my inner child alive. 💥
So I have decided to jump off the Adult train this weekend.
Inspired by an Afrikaans artist named Almero,
Ek maak vir my n fort….
Inside this fort I will be:
📚 Reading books
🎨 Colouring in
☕ journaling
✨ Doing all the things that used to make me happy as a child
If anyone needs me…
You can find me under the washing line.
Please knock on the blanket door.
I will ask you for the password.
Today’s password is:
“Picnic Planet.” 🫡🖤
