The Importance of Warm-Ups
Warming up your voice is crucial when it comes to performing at your highest level. The well trained singer is essentially like a trained athlete. The voice is a muscle and like any other muscle, it can be subject to strain and even injury if we aren’t careful.
A quick 15-30 minute vocal warm up can stretch your vocal cords gently, preparing them to be used to their full extent. Like a runner stretching their legs before a race, or a gym-goer getting their body ready to safely exercise, the vocal warm ups will remind your voice how to properly engage the correct muscles in order to produce the sound you are going for with ease and precision. I will post some exercises here that we can do in the future.
