I'm is presenting a live session in Rasheed Hooda's community, Embrace Your Inner Weirdo, on Monday 24th August 2026 at 6 pm BST. That's 1 pm EDT and 10 am PDT. The session is for people with an unusual story or an unconventional career behind them who are trying to work out how to build a YouTube channel around it.
Most are over forty, most are starting from zero subscribers, and most have been told that being authentic is the strategy.
It separates two jobs that usually get confused. Being yourself is why people stay on a channel. It's almost never why they arrive.
What brings a stranger to a video is a problem they've typed into a search bar, and the work is translating lived experience into the words that stranger would use.
Attendees will leave having done that translation themselves on one of their own experiences, with a video idea that has checkable search demand behind it.
There's a live demonstration of how to verify that demand for free in the YouTube search bar, and a walkthrough of how the title and the thumbnail split the two jobs between them.
The session runs for an hour with questions at the end. Free to attend and open to anyone who joins the community.
