Do Our Members Really Need More Information? 🤔
I’ve been thinking about what makes me unique as a Skool host, and I realized it’s probably the same contradiction that makes me…me. 😂
I’m a manifestation coach.
I’m also a math professor.
So while I absolutely believe in energy, intention, mindset and expecting good things, there’s another part of my brain sitting in the back of the room with a calculator saying:
“𝗢𝗸𝗮𝘆…𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗚?” 😂
And I think that's shaped the way I host my community more than I realized.
I don’t want women consuming more information just for the sake of consuming it. Lord knows we already have enough books, podcasts, courses and saved posts telling us what we should be doing.
I’m much more interested in:
What did you try?
What changed?
What did you notice?
What will you do differently now?
That’s been a big learning for me as a community host:
𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄.
So I’m learning to build less like a library and more like a laboratory.
Try something.
Pay attention.
Gather the receipts.
Adjust.
Apparently you can take the woman out of the math classroom, but you cannot take the math professor out of the woman. 😂
