New members usually feel overwhelmed. If they don't feel like they're accomplishing something with your group within the first 48 hours, they start to lose interest. It doesn't have to be big, it just has to be something.
Try a quick win.
Something they can do in 10 minutes that makes them go, 'Okay, this actually works.'
