Most of us didn't lose the ability to want things. We lost the ability to catch the flicker — the song we were about to change, the order we scanned the table before placing, the free hour we filled because it was easier than deciding. A thousand tiny overrides, none of them worth noticing. Until one day you can't tell what you want at all.

Small is the point. Not the career, not the marriage. The sandwich. The window seat. Don't solve it. Just answer honestly, and read what the other men wrote.
