What is a Shofar?
For those of you who are curious, let me explain how I came up with the name Shofar Showgood.
First of all, a shofar is simply a ram's horn that is used as a musical instrument in various cultures.
Specifically, in the Jewish culture, it is blown immediately before holidays to help the community to prepare for the celebration. I took this concept and applied it to my mission:
Preparing People for their Purpose.
My background consists of 25+ years of professional experience as a counselor/coach, supporting and serving individuals with disabilities in their career and financial goals.
After SSA recognized me as being qualified to personally receive disability benefits back in 2020, I knew I did not want to sit around twiddling my thumbs. I actually began my pursuit of establishing an online business in 2019 with an affiliate program. In 2021, I started my Financial Coaching business in southern California under the name Shofar Consulting Services. (SCS)
Shofar Showgood is simply an extension of SCS. It's a catchy name that I created...not AI. And is intended to go beyond financial coaching by serving not just persons with disabilities (PWDs), but also persons affected by disability (PADs), such as family members, professionals and disability advocates.
