Welcome to Shofar Showgood. Our mission is to serve persons affected by disabilities by Preparing them for their Purpose. This is accomplished by providing members with encouragement, support, guidance, skills and resources customized to their own needs and goals. RESPONSIBILITY. Yes...the "R" word. Quite honestly, I haven't been focusing about this topic until... just a few minutes ago. I was commenting on a post of another community, and suddenly, this topic screamed in my face. While the actual word, "responsibility" was not even mentioned in the discussion, the concept was suggested. With that in mind...Let me ask all of you... Do you believe that we should take responsibility for Both our own actions and feelings? Should we accept full responsibility for our own actions? What does that actually mean? Are we ever justified for actions that may result in harm to another person? Tell me what you think...I'll give you my perspective soon. 😁

Attention ALL MEMBERS: The main goal of Skool is for members to participate and engage in your chosen communities. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening here. In fact, most members have not even introduced themselves in the "Welcome" post. Subsequently, I have decided to filter out those who choose to be silent. WITHOUT promoting your own community, Each week, every member will be required to post a valuable piece of content or reply to a post that encourages engagement. As the owner of this community, I have the right to expel anyone whom I feel has not contributed to Shofar Showgood. This rule will be officially in effect beginning in 30 hours. Before an individual with a disability enters the workforce or dives into starting her/his own business, it is highly recommended that s/he complete a Career Assessment. This type of evaluation should be administered by someone who has been professionally trained and certified. Be cautious of so-called "professionals" who claim to be experts in offering this kind of service.
