ACTS Prayer Method- Introduction
Introduction: The ACTS method is a specific and wonderful way of praying to God. While our prayers should be honest and come directly from our hearts, the ACTS way helps us to organize our prayers. There are various acronyms that can guide people’s prayers, but we will focus on ACTS since it is well-known and easy to implement.
ACTS stands for Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. These daily components should guide our daily conversations with the Lord. Adoration is giving God the glory and honor He rightly deserves. As our Creator and Sustainer, we should come to Him with humble hearts and offer Him praise straight from the heart.
Confession is bringing our sins to Him, admitting we are wrong, and asking for His forgiveness. God will not hear our prayers if we have unconfessed sins in our hearts.
Thanksgiving is exactly that: giving thanks to Him for all His blessings, spiritual and physical. It comes from a heart filled with gratitude for blessings big and small.
Finally, Supplication is praying on behalf of others, interceding for their needs and holding them up to the Lord. We can do this for anyone and everyone. We will explore a different part of ACTS each week during this month. This is not to complicate prayer. It’s to provide you with biblical examples and ideas for your own prayer life. Thank you for joining me on this journey. The verses in this study are from the King James Version. I will be posting Week One Day One tomorrow. Have a blessed and safe 2026!
