How the Learning Lab Works: A Quick Refresher
We are coming to the end of Week 3, which means it’s the perfect time to look at the big picture and remind ourselves how everything fits together day-to-day inside the Learning Lab. 🗓 THE RHYTHM OF THE GROUP Each month, we work through a specific theme together. The content drops in a steady, easy-to-follow schedule so you’re never overwhelmed and never left behind. Here is exactly how our current monthly schedule breaks down: 📅 Week 1 - We start with the inspiration and the plan. In Module 1 (Dream It), you'll learn how to find inspiration and mix ideas to plan your perfect garment before you touch a thing. Then, we move to Module 2 (Fabric First) to choose the right fabric for your pattern and avoid costly mistakes before you cut. 📅 Week 2 - Module 3: Test Before You Cut (Toile Time) This step is non-negotiable and we focus on how to make a toile so your good fabric fits perfectly the first time. Yes, it's worth it. Yes, every time until we know the pattern is correct for our shape. 😄 📅 Week 3 - Module 4: Cut With Confidence (Where we are right now!) With the fit confirmed, we cut the good fabric. Module 4 (Cut With Confidence) shows you how to properly set up, lay out, and cut your fabric properly so your garment starts right. 📅 Week 4 - Module 5: Plan Your Construction (Live Session) - How to plan your construction order so you sew in the right sequence, every time. Module 6: Finished and Proud (Live Session) - How to press, shape, and finish your garment so you can say "yes, I made this" and mean it. 🎥 THE LIVE SESSIONS Two live sessions per month happen during Week 4. These are tailored specifically to the monthly theme garment so the techniques are always relevant to what you're making right now. 💬 THE COMMUNITY You are always more than welcome to lurk-and-learn! 😄 But the real results happen when you engage. Ask questions, share your makes, celebrate your wins, and commiserate over your unpicking. The more you put in, the more you'll get out.
