Resolutions or Derterminations?
The preacher started her sermon today telling us to stop wasting time making New Year's resolutions. Instead she made a powerful appeal for determining the outcome of each day using these words from the Apostle Paul just weeks before it is believed he was killed by the Roman government.
2 Timothy 1:6-7 NRSVUE
[6] For this reason I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is within you through the laying on of my hands, [7] for God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline.
Those last 3 are my 2026 determination
- Live into the spirit of power given to everyone to create
- Love others by freely sharing all my gifts of knowledge, wisdom, and time.
- Exercise self-discipline by consistently showing up with authenticity, compassion, and authority.
