Google Ads for Free Keyword Research?

Have just found out that by signing up to Google Ads it has a keyword research tool.

I had to sign up with my card details but you don't have to activate a campaign to gain access to the tool.

Has anybody else used this Google Ads tool for keyword research?

What was your experience with it?

It seems like by using Google I'm accessing keyword information at the source 🤔
