@Zac Hansen i know these things are super annoying, but any chance you have any insights here? this is what my codex said:
I tested the connection directly. The result is conclusive:
- meta_ads is installed and enabled.
- It is not authenticated.
- Codex rejects Meta’s OAuth configuration before the Facebook login page opens.
- The exact error is an authorization-server issuer mismatch.
This is a known, open compatibility problem between Codex and Meta’s official Ads MCP. OpenAI’s issue tracker also documents the official Meta endpoint failing before its OAuth consent flow opens, plus a newer failure after authentication. Meta OAuth issue, Meta MCP handshake issue Has anyone else had this issue / found a solution?
things i have tried to fix this:
- used the codex app.
- used the chatgpt side of the app.
- used vs studio code as the wrapper.
- tried claude code through vs code
- not yet tried claude code through desktop app, i ran out of time.
its not a urgent thing, but if anyone has found the answer, this would be cool to learn!
