Stepping out of my comfort zone and getting my reps in
So this week the weather has been nice, so I’ve been trying to get more reps in by speaking to more strangers in the street, at the park and in restaurants to force myself to start conversations first.
Most of the time, I tend to premeditate what I’m going to say and often get stuck in my own head trying to think of the next word or topic to respond with. After completing Module 5, which has really been eye-opening, I’ve realised this is something I’ve been struggling with for a long time.
I often struggle to think of the right word and also find myself monitoring how I’m coming across. I decided to use the practical tools from the module cheat sheet when going into conversations, and this has helped me significantly to stop overthinking and continue speaking instead of pausing for too long trying to think of the perfect word.
I practised this throughout the week and it has helped me a lot. Especially when producing content and filming, I would often pause for ages trying to think of a word and would have to repeat the whole sentence again so it made sense for the video. These tips have really helped improve my content.
