When clean writing starts looking suspicious
Jason’s recent Medium piece about being accused of using AI struck a nerve for me.
In my last company, I ran into repeated issues because my writing was assumed to be machine-generated because it was clear and consistent. At some point, the conversation stopped being about meaning and turned into suspicion about process.
What feels strange is how quickly assumptions form. Careful wording can now work against you, and speed can raise questions. That puts people in an odd position when experience tends to show up as clarity.
I am curious how others are handling this shift. If you write or communicate for work, how do you think about trust right now?
