I just published a LinkedIn article about something we all see but rarely discuss — chefs wearing watches and jewelry while preparing food. Big award-winning chefs are pictured doing it all the time, even though it breaks basic food safety rules.
When our industry leaders do this, it sends a message down the line that it’s okay to prioritize style over safety.
I’d love to hear from you:– Do you think awards groups like James Beard or Michelin should care about food safety compliance?– Should top chefs set a stronger example for the rest of us?– Do watches/jewelry belong anywhere in a kitchen?
