Coaches: Make 3x3 your primary learning game. 🏀
One of our coaches asked for a FIBA 3x3 training resource for a youth fall league he’s running. Sharing this tutorial for everyone:
At SAVI, we highly recommend 3x3 as the primary game youth players use to learn basketball. Here are three reasons:
1. Continuous transition
Players constantly switch between offense and defense. Fewer resets mean more opportunities to recognize a change and react.
2. More space. Clearer reads.
With fewer players sharing the floor, players have more room to see advantages, attack space, and make decisions.
3. Speed is built into the game.
The 12-second shot clock creates urgency. Players have to recognize, decide, and act quickly.
We use the game to teach the game. 3x3 gives players more opportunities to do exactly that.
Who’s already using 3x3 in practices or running a youth league?
If you'd like to come check out our 7-day free trial for full membership, we'll talk about this on next week's live training.
