A hard truth we all need to hear
It is not selfish show up for yourself which in turn causes you to show up better for the people who depend on you.
It is selfish to make your family watch you break your word to yourself and not follow through with the things you said you were going to do.
It is selfish to show up to your family with an empty cup because you didn't feel like doing the things needed to refill your cup.
It is selfish for your family to hear you constantly say what you should do but you never do.
It is selfish to blame your family for you not showing up as your best self because it was a little uncomfortable or hard
Instead of saying "I don't have time to eat right or get a quick 20 minute workout in because I'm a father or husband"....... Go look at your kids and wives and say, "I choose not to show up to you as my best version because it's a little hard and uncomfortable, And you're not important enough for me to make that little bit of time so I can show up as my best self, but I'm going to blame you for it anyways".... Because that's what's really being said when you say you don't have time.
