Hope everyone has a good one. One tip is don’t forget to rest. Taking a break at least one day out of the week is actually really good for your musical growth.
Use rubato playing to connect scales and arpeggios. Take your time and see the connections. Do it enough times, and the movement will be part of your playing.
The best way to learn how to solo is by copying other people’s solo, breaking down what they’re thinking, and then trying to imitate those movements into your own playing.
A lick is great but variation on them is better. This is a lesson on what it means - Less is more. UPDATE: will have a solo up to transcribe by ear tonight over the A section of Take the A Train. And an arpeggio exercise up tomorrow tomorrow night, latest.
