The Institute continues a long-standing tradition that began in 1946 with the Italy–Russia Association, placing the study of the Russian language and culture at the very heart of its mission. Its activities include Russian language courses, study stays, and cultural trips to the most important cities of the Russian Federation, as well as to several countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Over the years, the Institute has established itself as a center of excellence in Russian language education. Among its students are diplomats, journalists, professionals, and business executives—individuals who have achieved success in their respective fields and who have contributed in a concrete way to the development of cultural, artistic, economic, and scientific cooperation.
Because of the nature of its work, the Institute maintains ongoing relationships with the Embassies and Consulates of the Russian Federation.
