Self-Love vs. Self-Confidence — They’re Not The Same Thing
Self-love is about the present and the past. It’s the full acceptance of who you are, every version of yourself. The polished version and the messy one. It’s not about feeling good about yourself all the time. It’s about embracing and appreciating that person regardless.
Self-confidence is different. It’s forward-facing. It’s the optimism and positive expectation you carry into something that hasn’t happened yet. A belief that your efforts will produce a result.
Here’s what most people get wrong about confidence though…. it’s not a mindset.
A mindset is a lens you see the world through. Confidence is an attitude. A specific posture you take toward a specific thing. You’re not just “confident” in general. You’re confident about something. About the outcome of your work. About a conversation you’re about to have. About a goal you’re pursuing.
You choose that attitude. It’s not something you wait to feel. So if you’re working on yourself, work on both. Let self-love be your foundation. Let confidence be the energy you bring to what’s next.
