Welcome to the Studio!
Hello! Welcome to the Rose Cello Studio! This is a community helping cello players not just learn to play their instruments, but have fun by learning to play their favorite songs. We don’t just find the right sheet music for you. We learn how to make the sheet music the way we want it. My name’s Elisha G. Rose. I started my own cello journey in 2006. When wanting to play something outside of my Suzuki books, I always struggled to find the songs I loved written with the sound I wanted. That drove me to study music theory, which opened the creative doors of making the sheet music I want. As a teacher, I wanted to do more than just teach students how to play the cello. I wanted to help them learn to play the songs that first drew them to the cello. Improvisation is a part of my regular lesson routine, and melody writing is a standard practice in my music theory course. I put together this community to help cello students achieve the dream of playing their favorite songs. If you're ready to play your favorite song on your cello, then let's start the journey by... 1. What is the Rose Cello Studio?
It’s a Community that is going to help committed musicians who want to play their favorite songs on the cello. Members will experience the personal attention of a one-on-one lesson with the motivational effects of a group class. While classic songs will be used for learning to play the cello, members will also get to explore non-standard and/or contemporary songs for additional fun while they learn. Members will even get to learn how to use music theory to rewrite songs for cello. Cellists in this community will find themselves excelling in their playing and songwriting through what’s known as the flywheel effect. Put simply, this is the effect of teachers and students coming together to show progress, express struggles, share advice, and support each other on their musical journeys. I experienced a similar flywheel effect in college called Repertoire. This class was where music students performed for both peers and faculty and received valuable feedback and encouragement in their musical education. I’m seeking to bring that experience and more to the Rose Cello Studio. Here are the premium features offered in the Community. - Recorded video lessons for cello playing. - Recorded video lessons for music theory through song writing. - Weekly group video calls. - Monthly one-to-one check-ins. - Open access to both teacher and community members for help, motivation, and encouragement for their musical journey.
