FIRE stands for Financial Independence Retire Early.
FIRE is a pretty big movement in the personal finance space.
Where the strategy is to live in EXTREME frugality until you've got a nest egg big enough to live off 4% for the REST OF YOUR LIFE.
Now...
They have different versions.
Barista FIRE: Where you retire doing part time work.
Fat FIRE: Where you retire with a much bigger nest egg and don't live so frugal.
Coast FIRE: Where you live even more frugally and save up a boat load until a certain age then you just let it compound and stop saving.
All of these have commonalities:
❌EXTREME FRUGALITY
❌10 YEARS OR MORE OF SAVING
❌LIVING OFF YOUR NEST EGG PRAYING NOTHING HAPPENS TO IT.
❌TRUSTING YOUR NEST EGG WITH BANKERS AND WALL STREET CROOKS. (What could go wrong?)
❌NO PENSION!!! (Other than Social Security when you're at least 62)
