New instrument > music classroom
If you work with new instruments in a regular class setting - I always introduce the instrument first, with show and tell, then hand them over and make them use and start playing instantly. Then I’ll direct them to make the sounds to the loudest, then to the most silent and become complete silent on cue.
Helps to reduce fuzz, annoying playing and irritated kids since there eager to start but not allowed.
To do: agree in a stop move and how to hold the instrument in silent mode before you hand them over.
