Frogsy - Clean Your Mess!
Game to clean up your classroom while it was full with gym utensils and other stuff to climb on! Type of game: tag game The tagger is the rabbit. He can run and make big jumps. The rest are frogs, they jump low. The rabbit catches the frog. Th frog has to clean one thing from the playground: the skippy balls, hoops hoops or hoops or whatever you used. The rabbit chaser changes every 30 seconds. All become tagger once. Game is done when ‘all the cleaning’ has done! Works well with music.

Listening game - > starter lesson
Start by finding attention and make the group quiet. Rub your hands. Start fast and with force. Now rub soft and slow. Now only feel the energy of your hands. And move them around 2cm apart. Massage your head. Gently rub and touch your face Gently touch the ears and clean them like you’re pulling something out. Then you’re all set! Listen together and discuss at the same time: 1) What is the sound the most far away you can hear outside the classroom? A car? Playing children? The wind? 2) What can you hear at the corridor? Or in the classrooms next to ours? 3) What can you hear in our classroom? A ticking clock? The airconditioning? 4) What can you hear in you’re body? Your breath? Your heartbeat? This exercise makes kids embodied and aware of there presence. And it creates focus. All very grounding.

New instrument > music classroom
If you work with new instruments in a regular class setting - I always introduce the instrument first, with show and tell, then hand them over and make them use and start playing instantly. Then I’ll direct them to make the sounds to the loudest, then to the most silent and become complete silent on cue. Helps to reduce fuzz, annoying playing and irritated kids since there eager to start but not allowed. To do: agree in a stop move and how to hold the instrument in silent mode before you hand them over.
