👋 Welcome + How to Use This Community
👋 Welcome + How to Use This Community This community is built around real-world road trip experience — scenic routes, smart planning, safety tips, food stops, and flexibility. How it works: - Browse Route Guides for ready-made ideas - Ask questions in Ask the Road Trip Crew - Share experiences in Member Trip Reports - Download planners and checklists in Resources & Downloads There are no dumb questions here. If you’re unsure, ask. 🙋 Introduce Yourself Create a post and share: - Where you’re traveling from - Who you usually road trip with (solo, family, partner, pets, RV, etc.) - Your dream road trip in CA or the Southwest This helps others give better recommendations and builds community faster. 🧭 How to Ask for Route Help When asking for help, include: - Starting city - Number of days - Time of year - Travel style (fast-paced, scenic, kid-friendly, relaxed, etc.) - Must-see stops (if any) The more details you share, the better the advice you’ll get. ⚠️ Road Trip Basics & Safety Overview Before hitting the road: - Check weather and road conditions - Know fuel distances (especially in desert areas) - Carry water, snacks, and offline maps - Prepare for seasonal conditions (heat, snow, wind, flash floods) You’ll find deeper safety posts and checklists in the Safety & Seasonal Tips category. 👉 Next steps: 1. Post your introduction 2. Browse a Route Guide that fits your trip 3. Ask your first question Let’s build better road trips together 🚗🌄

Peggy Sue’s Diner
No doubt you’ve passed by signs advertising Peggy Sue’s Diner when driving up I15 from Southern California to Las Vegas. Food is standard diner fare, but the dinosaurs in the back make it a great stop for kids! I recommend if you need a break from the road and kids need to burn energy on the way to Vegas. https://youtube.com/shorts/U6s2i8sIctA?si=yAkz0MomFZHvLszO
