Welcome To The Rise Up Academy!
If you’re here, you probably know what it feels like to hold yourself to impossible standards. To be “the strong one,” the achiever, the one who keeps it all together even when it costs you your peace, your rest, and sometimes your sense of self. I'm also a recovering perfectionist and still struggle with avoidance because "its" not good enough...yet. This space is for those of us practicing being more understanding of ourselves, even on the tough days! Here, we practice: *Showing up even when we’re not “perfect” *Resting without guilt *Letting progress be enough *Listening to our own needs *Being kind to ourselves along the way You don’t have to fix yourself to belong here, you already belong. I’m glad you’re here. We will rise together slowly, steadily, and with compassion.
Rise Up
What does rise up mean to me? To be aware of what I’m feeling and why. Then find a way to continuously improve by pivoting and adjusting my day to day. To navigate chaos and find the ground below to sturdy me, find my footing, and keep moving forward. Lately I’ve been MIA on here with alot of chaos between holidays and preparing to lose and gain within a new chapter of life. A new job. 😳 Sometimes silence is best until you’re ready to come back and share the experience. I take things one moment at a time along side others so I learn how to become someone Im proud of because it’s my life and my purpose to share! To rise means to come out of the challenging times with clarity, purpose, and direction to keep moving one foot in front of the other while finding pride in who you are and continue to become. Keep seeking fulfillment and peace within yourself. ❤️

Change
Why do we resist change? The unknown is scary. We like comfort and what to expect but with change comes growth. To learn to be in the uncomfortable moments I’ve found a whole new world of opportunity and belief in myself. I like to say just dip a toe in the water first and then you may decide to jump in, but not everyone is the same. What typically is your method: To just jump in or to slowly make your way into the water? What are you currently resisting?

Breakfast
Breakfast one of the most controversial meals of the day! Do you or don't you.... Honestly its up to you. I typically have coffee and then a few hours later a breakfast. Week days usually an apple and protein shake then weekends well I need to get better with this again. Working on egg whites, turkey sausage links, and 20g Chobani greek yogurt. That way I start my day with minimum 20-50g protein. Whats important is to get "enough" protein with each meal along with more nutrient dense foods. Easier said than done because lets be real, they just don't taste as appealing. What's typically your first meal of the day and what does it look like?

Brain Overload
Is there such thing as a brain overload? There must be. It’s how I’m feeling lately, the past few weeks. Brain is firing in many directions and spread thin on power. Where to start? What to do now? I don’t feel like it? The self talk to just do whatever I think I should is 60/40 depending on the task at hand. Sooo frustrating! When my week seems very out of routine or chaotic this tends to happen. I must choose where I focus, along with where, and when to go into a sleep mode. To get by and reserve my sanity. Real life! What about you?
