Your outreach strategy is broken.
Hereโs how to fix it. If your messages are getting ignored, itโs not because LinkedIn is โtoo saturated.โ Itโs because youโre still doing things the old way. Stop doing this: โ Sending cold DMs with no context. If theyโve never seen your name before, why would they reply? โ Using cringe personalization. โI see you do great work in [industry]โ isnโt personalโitโs lazy. โ Pitching in the first message. Nobody wants to be โpitch slapped.โ โ Thinking volume > quality. Spamming 100 random people is a great way to burn through leadsโnot book calls. Do this instead: โ
Start with content-led outreach โ Show up on their feed before you show up in their inbox. If theyโve seen your name a few times, your message isnโt โcoldโโitโs familiar. โ
Follow first, then connect โ When you follow first, LinkedIn sends a message that says "Tiffany follows you and would now like to connect." That feels natural. A straight connection request? Not so much. โ
Send blank connection requests โ Messages in connection requests scream โIโm about to sell you something.โ Blank requests create intrigue and get accepted at a MUCH higher rate. โ
Engage before you DM โ Commenting on their post? Smart. Liking every post theyโve ever written? Creepy. โ
Offer insane value first โ Give them something genuinely helpful BEFORE you ask for anything. A free resource, a quick insight, something that makes them think, โWow, this is actually useful.โ Outreach isnโt dead. Bad outreach is. Are you still stuck in the old way of doing things? Or are you ready to level up?
