Both ;))))))
â
If you don't already know me, my name is Sam Walford and I'm a 16y/o dropout from the UK and so far I've made almost $10k from my coaching business (travelling Europe this summer) all while LOVING MY WORK.
â
And so my answer is that you should have fun by making money. But obviously it isn't that simple to build a business you love.
â
And so that is why in this post I will give you my 5 biggest lessons that have allowed me to LOVE working, and that I am 100% confident will allow you to build a business you love too. Let's get started :)
â
â
â
â
â
â
1: Don't confuse freedom with golden handcuffsđ¸
When I was 14 I got to $2k/month with coaching but oversubscribed myself on calls. I lost all my freedom because I had no time, I started hating business, and I got addicted to video games to cope.
â
Waking up at 4pm crying, playing fifa all day, then going to sleep at 5am. I wasted the entire summer of 2024 indoors hating myself, and by September my business was completely gone. I lost it all because I made one crucial mistake:
â
I forgot why I was doing business in the first place. I was doing business for freedom, and money was just a means to that freedom. But I put the money before my freedom, and oversubscribed myself on calls, which lead to me burning out and losing my entire business and months of my life.
â
If you too are doing business so you can go and travel, and live life free from the 9-5 with infinite freedom, then you must understand that most business models (like dropshipping, clipping, all this BS) are literally just GLORIFIED 9-5 JOBS.
â
You make more money with them and have more freedom sure, but at the end of the day you're still spending your life on something you don't enjoy. Instead of being a slave to a boss youâre a slave to your own business; youâre a slave to the business that was originally meant to set you free in the first place.
â
The masculine spirit needs a purpose, it needs a mission to be truly free. Life isn't good if you have nothing to do other than enjoy yourself. Online business can be this mission if you enjoy it.
â
And so if you want true freedom, obviously you need to make money online. But just as importantly you need to be working on something you truly love.
â
â
â
â
â
2: You will amount to Greatnessđ
When I was 10 years old I was committing my entire life to going pro on Fortnite. Every waking hour was spent practicing or competing, and despite being on PS4 I actually got really close to making money in cash cups a few times lmao.
â
The reason I was able to get so obsessed with Fortnite is the same reason I've been able to get so obsessed with my business today. This is so incredibly arrogant (and I am proud of it too) but I have this whisper inside of me telling me I will amount to greatness.
â
I've always known I am special. And like I said, this is so incredibly arrogant, but honestly, whenever someone asks me what is the number 1 reason I am successful, I always say that it's my arrogance.
â
And this might piss you off, and if so, then you can fuck off lmao. But if it weirdly inspires you when I talk about this, and if you feel you relate to this strange whisper inside of you telling you that you will amount to greatness, most likely you are like me, and you too will reach the heights of success.
â
If this is you, then you have some crazy fucking potential and you just need to accept that with arrogance. Online business might only be the start of your mission to change the world, but if you have this whisper inside of you, please please do not waste your potential on dropshipping.

3: Nothing changes if nothing changesđ
You are constantly assuming that your life is going to end up perfect at some point. You are constantly waiting for the time that you will be living on a farm in the mountains with your beautiful family and children away from the sickness of society.
â
That isn't going to happen. Well, not unless you lock in NOW.
â
This dream of success is revered by hundreds of millions of other young men like yourself. And there aren't hundreds of millions of ranches in the mountains. There is massive competition for this success, and if you don't try and outcompete us, we will take it from you.
â
And then you tell yourself âYes, once I do X then I will lock in on businessâ X could be your exams, it could be something to do with your parents, it could be anything really.
â
But it's not actually external circumstance stopping you from locking in on business, it is in fact just an internal blocker within you. It's your fear of change that is stopping you from locking in.
â
We all have parents trying to make us study. We all have schools weâre afraid of finding what weâre doing. We all have the same "reasons why I can't succeed" list that you have. But the successful ones, like myself, we just don't give a fuck about that list and we just do what we want anyway.
â
Youâre not special, youâre just scared of change (which is natural). You have to lean into that fear and embrace the change though. Don't stop anything or anyone stop you from getting what you want.
â
â
â
â
â
4: Live as if your parents were deadđ
Do you feel guilty for not wanting the same thing your parents want for you? They want you to go to college or university or some career but you know that deep down you truly just want to go all in on online business.
â
Imagine that you got a knock at the door one evening while you were home alone, and it's a policeman. And he tells you that both your parents have died in a car crash. Other than grief, you would feel kind of freed wouldn't you?
â
Let's just say you get some sort of allowance and you can live alone. You now have full control over your life. You would go all in on business wouldn't you? You wouldn't carry on living your parents dream if they were dead, you would start living your own dream.
â
If you could you would go all in on your business. But you don't because you're scared of your parents.
â
And obviously you legally might not be able to dropout right now, but you could still go all in on business without telling them, no? Because that's exactly what I did.
â
I never studied, I was always late for school, and I always put my business first. I slowly eased into doing that, and over time my parents warmed up to me prioritising business. They saw me waking up early and locked in on business, they saw my results with it too, and over time they warmed up to actually wanting me to dropout, and now they fully support me in business.
â
Part of becoming a man from a boy is deciding your own fate and your own journey. If you constantly live as a dancing monkey trying to please your parents you're going to stay a little boy taking commands for ever.
â
Or, you decide your own fate and your own path free from your parents' expectations, and you become a true man.
â
Living to your parents expectations is painful. Be your own human being. Live as if your parents were dead.
â
â
â
â
â
5: Never go back to sleepđ
From these lessons I have taught you, you have had some deep realisations. Donât go back to sleep and forget them.
â
Because there is fear in following these lessons and pushing forward into the future, because change is scary. But if you let that fear control you and try and forget about these lessons itâs just going to cause even more suffering.
â
You know you arenât going to be able to forget about this. You know itâs going to keep pestering you until you satiate the desire to go all in.
â
And so why not? If you want something, why stop anything from getting in the way of what you want?
