START HERE — Welcome to Remission Club
Welcome to Remission Club! 💚 This is a community for people living with ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and IBD who want to take action, not just survive the next flare. Why I started this My stomach has never really been normal. As long as I can remember I've had problems with it, and I just thought that was how I was. When I was 22 I had my first big flare. I was dealing with a lot of stress at work at the time, and I'm pretty sure that's what set it off. Pain and cramps all day, blood when I went to the toilet. For two weeks I was going every 45 minutes. At some point I just couldn't work anymore. Sports were out too. I had no idea what was happening to me. It took a long time before I knew what it was, and even longer before I understood how to get it under control. I looked for help everywhere. Slowly I started to figure out what my body reacted to and what actually made a difference. Since then I've had a few really bad flares. I've been in hospital and I lost a lot of weight. Every time I got back on my feet, but every time I also thought: I wish I had known this earlier. And I wish I knew people who were going through the same thing. I'm 28 now. I've been living with this for six years, and today I have it under control. Not because I found some magic trick, but because I slowly learned what my body needs. That's why I started this group. What works for me might not work for you, and the other way around. But if we share what we've tried, we can all figure it out faster. If you recognise yourself in this, welcome. Remission Club is an educational and peer-support community for people living with ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and other forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The founder is not a medical doctor. All content — including courses, posts, live calls, guides and member comments — is shared for educational and informational purposes only and is based on personal experience and publicly available research. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it does not replace care from a qualified healthcare professional. Never start, stop or change any medication based on content in this community. Always talk to your gastroenterologist, IBD nurse or doctor before making changes to your diet, supplements, exercise or treatment. Results vary from person to person. No content here guarantees remission or any specific outcome. If you experience severe symptoms — such as heavy rectal bleeding, severe abdominal pain, high fever, signs of dehydration, persistent vomiting or a swollen, hard abdomen — seek medical care immediately or call your local emergency number. By joining Remission Club, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your own health decisions.
