ECOSystem on an airplane
I’m writing this on a flight to Las Vegas for my uncles 70th birthday
My mom and I started talking about the ECOSystem, and I decided to use an example in the plane to ex(plane) it
I used the seatbelt buckle symbol as an example. This is what I came up with:
🟣 Soul: the intention is to keep passengers safe
🔵 Direction: the goal is to communicate to passengers to stay seated
🟢 Creative: the communication is expressed in a way that represents a seat buckle
  • (An alternative could be the explicit words “please keep seatbelt fastened”, so the symbol is a creative choice)
🟡 Performance: The person in charge of turning the symbol on and off likely has an indicator that the light is on
🟠 Conservation: There are likely a certain amount of wires that are used to power the lights and how much electricity the lights require to function, which are both resources needed
🔴 Operation: This is the electricity actually moving through the circuitry to the light. The actual function of the whole thing
⚪️ Observation: this is the role we’re playing in being aware of the system. The observer is also involved in the process
This is just a fun exercise I like to do to understand the ECOSystem better.
