Question: Electric Heat - Tenants Pay Hydro
Hello,
Looking for insight regarding a cash flowing investment property with electric heat.
Tenants pay for their Hydro, and each unit has electric heat. I have a mutual connection with an existing tenant, who has said that this unit is very cold due to the electric heat, and I speculate their is concern due to the high cost of hydro as a result.
Question:
- Would electric heat deter you as a landlord, due to concerns?
- Would it be worth installing heat pumps in the units in this case?
- How would you approach these concerns?
