My family tragedy and why I'm so passionate about personal finance.
One of the biggest reasons I’m so passionate about personal finance, planning, and building the right financial team comes from a personal family tragedy.
When my father passed away in 1986, our family was not financially prepared. There was no life insurance. There was no real financial plan. And almost overnight, everything changed.
I watched my family go from stability to stress very quickly.
Assets had to be sold. The family business was affected. The house eventually had to be sold. And emotionally, it changed all of us.
What I learned from that experience is that personal finance is not just about money It’s about protecting your family It ’s about reducing stress during the hardest moments of life. It's about making sure the people you love are taken care of when life does not go according to plan.
That experience shaped the way I look at mortgages, real estate, insurance, taxes, estate planning, and financial advising. They should not work separately. They should work together as one complete strategy.
That is a huge part of why I created Core 7 and why I believe so strongly in having a full financial team around families.
Most people do not realize how important planning is until something goes wrong.
I hope by sharing my story, more families can avoid some of the pain that ours went through.
