Duolingo is particularly useful for improving vocabulary; it is recommended if you are at a beginner level in your target language. What I always recommend when learning a language is to utilize every available technique and discover which one works best for you personally. In my case, what worked best to improve my English was listening to podcasts to hone my listening skills, and singing music I enjoy to improve my speaking and pronunciation. Lo que yo siempre recomiendo para aprender un idioma es usar todas las tecnicas exitentes y descubrir cual es la que te funciona a ti personalmente. Something important for learning and progressing in language learning is having strong motivation. Find your WHY. In my case, I was able to learn English because I was already living in the US, and my motivation was to have better opportunities, to be able to interact more confidently with people, and to achieve my goals. Motivation is important because it makes us consistent in our learning. Language learning is a marathon, not a sprint.
