I'm glad you're here. I've spent years wearing the badge — and long before that, I was exactly where a lot of you are right now: trying to figure out if this career was even possible for me, and how to actually get there. Nobody handed me a roadmap. I learned most of it the hard way, through trial, error, and a lot of "I wish someone had just told me this." That's why I built this. Ready & Real exists for one reason: to give you the real path to becoming — and surviving as — a police officer, without the recruiting-poster fluff and without the gatekeeping. I've broken the journey down into five stages, and we'll work through all of them together: 1️⃣ Applicant — figuring out if this is really for you, and getting your foundation right 2️⃣ Selection — the fitness test, the interview, the psych eval, the background — the whole gauntlet 3️⃣ Academy — surviving the grind 4️⃣ FTO — field training, where the real learning starts 5️⃣ Year One — going solo, and the parts of this job nobody warns you about A quick note on me: I'll never name my department or get into specifics that could identify me or where I work — that's intentional, and it lets me speak freely and honestly with you. What I will give you is everything else: real experience, real answers, no BS. This only works if it's a two-way street. So — drop a comment below and tell me: where are you at right now in this journey? Just starting to consider it? Deep in the application process? Already through the academy? I want to know who's here. Let's build this thing together. -AA
