This creates an interesting contradiction.
Some things that feel good now make life harder later.
At the same time:
Some things that feel difficult now make life easier later.
Scrolling for two hours may feel comfortable tonight but create distraction tomorrow. Avoiding a conversation may create immediate relief but produce tension that continues for months. Skipping a workout feels easier today but makes physical discipline harder tomorrow.
On the other hand, exercising may feel uncomfortable today but produce strength later. Saving money may feel restrictive today but create freedom later. Having a difficult conversation may create anxiety today but produce clarity afterward.
So perhaps the question is not:
“What makes me comfortable?”
It may be:
“What kind of comfort am I creating for my future self?”
